How to Patch the ToolKit
 
 - Install the ToolKit, from the CD
     or by downloading the files here
  - Leave
      the checks in the boxes and click Finish when done installing
- Allow
      the computer to restart (leave the CD in the drive until after you have
      restarted the ToolKit)
 
 
- Save the file located here into the C:\Program files\Twtk30 folder,
     replacing the existing one
  - Use
      C:\Program files (x86)\Twtk30 for 64-bit computers)
 
 
- Click here
     to download the patch file to bring your program up to date. Please
     follow the directions below. (If you have a 64 bit version of Windows 7,
     8, or Vista, see below for those instructions.)
• Run the file (you may have to save it first.)
• Make sure that the window indicates it will be Unzipped to folder
“C:\Windows\System32”. 
• Click on Unzip. 
• Click on OK that three files were unzipped successfully.
(If the files do not unzip properly, change the unzip location to C:\ and then
copy the files from there into C:\Windows\System32) 
• Close the WinZip Self-Extractor 
• Click on Start – Run (In 7, 8, or Vista, click on Start – All Programs –
Accessories – Run) 
• Type regsvr32 cscmd32.ocx 
• Click on OK 
• You should see a message whose last word is
“succeeded.” Click on OK. 
• Click on Start – Run (In 7, 8 or Vista, click on Start – All Programs –
Accessories – Run) 
• Type regsvr32 csspin32.ocx 
• Click on OK 
• You should see a message whose last word is
“succeeded.” Click on OK. 
• Click on Start – Run (In 7, 8, or Vista, click on Start – All Programs –
Accessories – Run) 
• Type regsvr32 cstext32.ocx 
• Click on OK 
• You should see a message whose last word is
“succeeded.” Click on OK. 
 - Start up the ToolKit
  - If
      you see a box that asks you to choose “Run”, first clear the check box
      that asks if you want to see this every time the program starts.
 
Instructions for
64-Bit Computers:
 - Save the
     downloaded files from Step 3 above into your Downloads folder 
- Click on Start –
     Computer 
- Click on the
     triangle next to your user name (it might be “Owner”) on the left in the
     Folders section 
- Click on the
     Downloads folder 
- On the right
     side, click on the first “CS” file. Hold down SHIFT and click on the last
     of them. They should all be highlighted. 
- Point the mouse
     inside a highlighted file and right-click. Choose Copy 
- On the left side
     of the screen, double click on Drive C: and then on Windows 
- Right click on
     SysWOW64 and choose Paste. Accept all changes 
- Close the window
     and go back to your desktop 
- Right click on
     an empty place on your desktop and choose New – Shortcut – Browse 
- Click on the
     triangle next to Computer if you don’t see Drive C:.
     Double Click on Drive C: - Windows – System32 – Cmd.exe - OK 
- Click on Next –
     Finish 
- Right click on
     the new icon and choose Run as Administrator 
- Type “regsvr32
     C:\Windows\SysWOW64\cscmd32.ocx” (without the quotes) 
- Hit the ENTER
     key on your keyboard 
- Click OK
     (Assuming you get a “succeeded” message. If not, let me know.) 
- Repeat steps 27
     to 29 twice, replacing the right side with csspin32.ocx and then
     cstext32.ocx 
- Type exit and
     hit ENTER to close the Command Prompt window 
- Return to Step 7
     in the instructions above
- If it is not in
     there already, put the ToolKit CD in the drive, if it is not there already.
     If a window comes up or the ToolKit tries to re-install, cancel it.
     
- Open the ToolKit
     using the icon on your desktop 
- If a window
     comes up talking about the publisher not being verified, take out the
     check on the box asking if you want to see it every time the program runs
     and click on Run 
- If a small
     window comes up to install parts of the program, click OK and allow it to
     run 
- When that is
     done, the program should run 
- Click on Data
     Entry 
- A window will
     come up complaining about a file or path not being found. Click OK 
- Click on Change
     Database file 
- Double-click on
     Test Data.mdb and click OK 
- You should see
     the Generic Types group 
 
While running the
ToolKit, if you constantly get asked to wait while Windows configures the
ToolKit, cancel out and run the file here
 - After
     the program is installed, click on Start – All Programs
- Run
     the program called Windows Install Clean Up
- Find
     The TypeWatching ToolKit in the list and click on it
- Click
     on Remove
- Confirm
     the removal
- Close
     the program
- Try
     the ToolKit
